Escapist that I am

Escapist that I am

I wonder what you do
when life gives you
a lemon
can you continue
with the game you persue
and say game on

When the going gets tough
when the terrain looks rough
when the lemon plays bluff
when enough of enough is enough

I never try to face
this race
this chase
I feel out of place
this space
this disgrace

Escapist that I am
I play a different game
give it a different name
ashamed?
Oh no I don't feel the shame
An excuse might become lame
A fire might become a flame
Pen, paper and a poem
I aim to write the same
put colors to this mayhem
But I don't claim
to curb and tame
Escapist that I am
I just play a different game
